London D4

Saturday – Rickmansworth Boat Festival

8.6 miles walked

After a trot around the neighborhood, we boarded a train for NW – the town of Rickmansworth.

Locks at Rickmansworth
St Mary the Virgin Church – established in the 13th century – rebuilt many times since then. The current west tower was built in the 17th century atop the medieval tower. The Church closed for burials in 1856 – cremated ashes are interred now. The Church website has a well documented history, due to the tidy records kept over the centuries. It has been a host to many royals throughout history, including Queen Catherine – first wife to Henry VIII.
Just a pretty pub in town we passed going back towards the high street.
Blackrose Lexi Design – ‘Robin with Snowdrops’ card.

Blackrose Lexi Design – I saw some of the most extraordinary cards in the shop window of Robert Harris Jewelers. I bought several cards from the shop, encouraged by a friendly greyhound visitor inside.

Train back to London – I believe dinner was charcuterie ~ I was still full from the kebabs & Pims.
