Thursday – Windsor & Regent’s Park
13.4 miles – total for the day
Adjusting decently to the time – Thursday am we attended a Les Mills class with adjustable bar weights. After a short train ride (20 min) to Windsor the day long workout began.
Windsor Castle – Constructed of wood around 1066 by William the Conqueror, the first Norman King of England. Henry I continued to use the castle and it has been in use by Royals since.
Windsor is the longest occupied palace in Europe. The royal family used the castle as refuge during the Luftwaffe Bombings in WWII. Currently, this is the main residence of Queen Elizabeth, but the royal flags were not flying the day of our visit.
Inside the State Apts – we walked through the King’s rooms (of King Charles II), Queen’s rooms, including the Queen’s Ballroom which continues to serve as reception for visiting heads of State from foreign countries.
For more info on the inside of Windsor Castle (and a few photos) here’s the blog I found to provide info about the King’s & Queen’s rooms and other rooms seen on the tour.

I also suspect the organ player was a child, told to press one key at a time & hold for 3 minutes – Not enjoyable to hear, whilst behind gaggles.
Regent’s Park
Taking the train back to London – we walked around Regent’s Park from Paddington Station.
