2019

June 2019 – IRE July – Wedding/Carbondale

Rainbow greetings in Galway
My first proper Irish pub

After landing in Shannon – Brian & I rode the bus to Galway while the others met us at the hotel via the rental car – all opted to stay & sleep the jet lag off. Marian was kind enough to indulge me with a few of her local favorite pubs well known for their live sessions. It was a grand time.

The following pictures are of our short visit to the grounds at Ashford Castle, built in 1228 in County Mayo. King Henry V with Queen Mary have lodged here, in addition to current celebrities. I thoroughly enjoyed the grounds, several closed off gardens were in full bloom during our visit.

Continuing in 2019 – The Wedding Party – goal achieved – we wanted a party with family & friends while not spending a fortune. The Craigslist dress was $125, Brian’s family hosted the ceremony & most of his extended family. My family got an Air B’n’B down the road, my sister made a couple of cakes & the taco wagon was perfect. We bought all the self serve booze at CostCo & our guest crowd was just the right size. Our actual ‘ceremony’ was timed at 3 minutes.

Camping with friends from Prague – We camped near the foot of Mt Sopris which is in the foreground just outside Carbondale.
